Last night on Canadian the Top 6 contestants sang pop/rock songs. Maroon 5 answered a question from each from the Idols but weren’t on hand “live” to mentor the group. That was the first disappointment because this group really needed advice!
The evening opened with Ben mentioning the shocking elimination of Greg Neufeld emphasizing again about voting to keep your favourite contestants safe.
Okay Canada what the heck happened? Last night on Canadian Idol another Idol was eliminated. Not Dwight, not Jaydee and certainly not Tara. This entire season has been filled with surprise eliminations and none of them have been good. Last night however the results were shocking! Sass Jordin’s face said it all when Greg Neufeld’s name was announced. Every one of the judges looked upset and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Ben so mad.
Last night on Canadian Idol the Top 7 were coached by Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor. No Bohemian Rhapsody – but a killer night all the same. Just as well we didn’t hear the classic again – after Kelli Pickler sang Bohemian Rhapsody I’ve never quite enjoyed it again. Both Brian May and Roger Taylor gave great advice to the contestants and for the most part the Idols were impressive.
1) Brian Melo opened the show with Queen’s “Too Much Love Will Kill You”. I think Brian has been flying under the radar all season but this song should put him as a frontrunner. Loved his voice and the performance was really polished. Great start to the evening and this should keep Brian around another couple of weeks.
