Last night on Canadian Idol another contestant was voted off the Top 10. Was it shocking like last week’s elimination – Greg Neufeld? No thank goodness. This week Canada got it right and not a moment too soon. The evening opened with a Top 6 group number “All For Love” (Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart, Sting). Have to say after Monday’s show I was surprised to hear that this group sounded really good together. Ben announced that over 3.1 million votes were cast. We got a painful review of the performance show – not something for the most part we need to see again!
Special guests – Maroon 5 performed “Wake Up Call” live on the Idol stage. They followed with their hit “Makes Me Wonder” both from their CD -It Won’t Be Soon Before Long. Really enjoyed both of their performances. Would have been nice if they had coached the Top 6 this week instead of just answering one question from each competitor.
Ben announced that the first contestant in the bottom 3 was Carly Rae Jepsen. Surprisingly (they seem to escape being there every week) Dwight and Tara are the next Idols to join him in center stage. This is the first week that the Bottom 3 makes sense. Farley thinks Carly Rae is going home but the next Idol to be eliminated is 23 year-old Tara Oram from Hare Bay Newfoundland. Tara sings “Walking On Sunshine” and it sounds a whole lot better than it did on Monday. I think she was very lucky to make it this far. Really glad Brian and Matt didn’t see the Bottom 3 and very surprised that Jaydee and Dwight have survived another week. Carly Rae Jepsen is the only remaining female contestant left in the competition.

Next week the theme is “My Own Idol” – artists who inspire the Top 5. Vocal coach will be American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson.
Top 4 week has been changed from “British Invasion” to the popular “Standards” theme with mentor Paul Anka. British singer Mika was to be the vocal coach to the competitors that week but has cancelled due to illness.

HI again Diane-
YAHOO–Canada got it right–one week too late for Greg but at least it was the correct decision this week.
My Complete comment from last night was somehow shortened BUT I had suggested that tara should be the one going home–
and I also thought that JayDee was possibly in hte “hot seat”.
So–as usual–you were on the money with your predictions and now (boo hoo) there is only one female
left—her chances are getting slimmer by the minute……….who do you NOW predict will win the whole thing?
Mine is: Brian Melo…….he’s coming into his own each week and the country is finally seeing that he is the strongest contender
(hope I didn’t just put a hex on his chances by writing this…)
Look forward to your review next week……..have a great and sunny weekend..
